Curriculum and Instruction M.Ed.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction program requires 36 hours of course work designed to prepare candidates with advanced knowledge, skills, and dispositions related to leading K-12 curriculum design, development, and evaluation in their respective fields of content specialization. The program is administered using a cohort model in that students begin the program as a group in the summer and finish the next summer. Upon completion of degree requirements and passing the appropriate GACE® assessment, graduates are eligible for level five (5) Georgia Service Certification in Curriculum and Instruction in Georgia. 

For admission, a student must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, hold or be eligible for a clear renewable, level four (4) Georgia Teacher Certificate, and submit University Admissions Form including application fee, if applicable. Additionally, candidates must submit two professional recommendations, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, verification of immunization, and a resume.

  • GPA Requirement
    • Option 1: Applicants who have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 from a regionally accredited university may be considered for admission to College of Education graduate programs.
    • Option 2: Applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA between 2.5 and 2.74 from a regionally accredited university and hold 3 successful years of teaching experience, as documented by a letter from the current employer, may be considered for admission to a College of Education graduate program.
